Turning a personality test into a hiring product
This NDA project turned an assessment methodology into a service that companies could sign up for, run candidates through and pay for. We built it end to end as a single full-stack developer over three months in 2020.
What we built
- Company accounts — registration and account management for employers.
- Assessments and results — candidates take the test, and results are stored for later review.
- Result control — admin features for reviewing results and controlling who can access them.
- Abuse protection — captcha on submissions to keep automated traffic out.
- Monetization — paid access built into the product from the start.
Stack
A server-rendered PHP application on MySQL, with jQuery, HTML and CSS on the frontend. Further details about the methodology and the client are limited under NDA.
