Frontend for a multilingual hotel booking platform
Megaworld Hotels needed its web booking experience to work equally well for guests in different languages and markets. We worked on the frontend of its hotel booking and management platform for four months, as a frontend developer inside an English-speaking international team.
What we worked on
- Localization — multilingual interface work across the booking frontend.
- Checkout — reducing friction in the reservation and payment steps.
- Booking journey — interface improvements along the path from search to room selection to checkout.
- Components — Vue.js 2 and Vuetify components on a Laravel 8 backend.
What localization means in a booking flow
Translating labels is the easy part. A booking screen also has to format dates and prices for the guest's locale, hold its layout when copy runs longer in another language, and keep messages clear at the payment step, where a confused guest is most likely to give up.
