What chess families expect
Chess is one of the few activities where progress is objectively measurable, and schools rarely use that. Parents want to know the coach, which group suits their child, which tournaments students play in, and whether ratings are improving. Schools publish a schedule and a price. Tournament participation is the main motivator for children and the main proof for parents, and it is usually communicated in a chat group nobody can search.
What we build for a chess school
First, groups by age and rating with coach profiles and their playing strength, which is what parents evaluate. Second, a tournament calendar with registration, since competition is the motivation and the evidence. Third, trial sessions, the low-commitment entry point. Fourth, progress and rating tracking visible to parents, which is the most persuasive retention tool available to any chess school and almost universally unused.
