When members need the union
Union websites are used in a narrow set of moments: someone is being dismissed, has not been paid, has been injured, or is checking whether something at work is lawful. In those moments they need clear rights information and a fast way to request support — not a history of the organisation and a list of officers. Membership itself is usually handled on paper, and the benefits that justify dues are unknown to most members.
What we build for a union
First, rights and procedures written plainly by situation: dismissal, unpaid wages, injury, working hours — which is what people search at the moment of need. Second, a confidential support request with case tracking, so a member knows their case exists and where it stands. Third, membership joining and dues online, replacing paper. Fourth, a benefits directory, because unused benefits are dues that feel wasted.
