When shippers choose air
Air freight is chosen under time pressure — perishables, spare parts stopping a production line, samples before a deadline — and the shipper needs an immediate rate, a departure they can rely on, and certainty about handling for temperature, dangerous goods or high value. They also need customs to be coordinated, because a fast flight followed by a slow clearance defeats the purpose. Carriers who answer by email tomorrow have already lost.
What we build for an air cargo service
First, rate quoting by weight, volume and route with realistic transit including handling, since the whole purchase is about time. Second, special cargo capability stated: temperature, dangerous goods, valuables, live animals — each of which excludes or qualifies a carrier. Third, customs coordination described, because clearance is where air shipments actually lose their advantage. Fourth, tracking with milestone visibility, which is the reassurance a shipper paying a premium expects.
