What a P2P platform actually sells
A peer-to-peer platform exists because two strangers want to transact and neither will go first. The buyer fears paying for nothing; the seller fears shipping for nothing. Everything a platform builds is addressing that: verification, escrow, reputation, and a dispute process that both sides believe is fair. Platforms without those features watch users move the transaction off-platform, taking the commission with them.
What we build for one
First, identity verification proportionate to transaction value, since anonymity is what makes fraud cheap. Second, escrow payments released on confirmed delivery, which is the mechanism that lets a stranger go first. Third, a reputation system that resists manipulation, because fake reviews destroy the only signal users have. Fourth, a defined dispute process with evidence handling, plus on-platform messaging, since conversations that leave the platform take the commission and the accountability with them.
