Where social selling breaks
Selling through social profiles works extremely well at small scale: the audience is there, trust is high, conversations convert. It stops working when orders exceed what one person can type. Prices are quoted inconsistently, availability is answered from memory, orders are copied into a notebook, payment arrives as transfer screenshots, and nobody can reconstruct what sold last month or who bought it.
What we build for a social seller
First, a catalogue linked directly from the profile, with prices and real availability, which removes the repetitive questions without removing the conversation. Second, order capture with payment in the flow, replacing screenshots that someone reconciles by hand. Third, customer records with purchase history, since repeat buyers are the whole business and currently exist only in a chat scroll. Fourth, stock synced across channels, because selling the same item twice is the fastest way to lose the trust this model runs on.
