Why seats stay unsold
People decide to go to the theatre in the evening, on a phone, for a date a week ahead, and abandon the plan if buying requires visiting a box office during working hours. Audiences also need to know what a production actually is before committing several hours and a real price. Regular attenders are the economic foundation of a theatre and almost none are recorded anywhere.
What we build for a theatre
First, a repertoire calendar with online ticketing and seat selection, since choosing the seat is how a theatre ticket is bought and the box office cannot serve an evening decision. Second, production pages with cast, synopsis, duration and video, which is what converts a hesitant viewer into a buyer. Third, subscriptions and season passes, the revenue that fills weekday performances. Fourth, an audience database with recommendations, because a previous attender is far cheaper to fill a seat with than a new one.
