Why traditional weaving under-earns
Hand-woven silk with traditional patterns is a genuinely differentiated product sold, in practice, as undifferentiated fabric at bazaar prices. Designers, interior specifiers and export buyers actively look for it and find intermediaries instead. The weaving process, the pattern origins and the fact that no two lengths are identical are exactly what justifies a higher price, and none of it is anywhere a buyer can read.
What we build for a weaver
First, a pattern and fabric catalogue with composition, width, weight and pattern names, photographed to show the weave. Second, the making process documented, since provenance is the entire premium in hand-woven textiles. Third, custom weaving as a service for designers who need a specific colourway or width. Fourth, wholesale and export enquiry routing in the languages buyers search, which is what removes the intermediary from the chain.
