What a distribution company is asked
Two very different workloads dominate. During an outage, thousands of people want the same information and phone for it, which slows the crews trying to coordinate. The rest of the time, the load is new connection applications — a slow, document-heavy process that applicants cannot see the status of, so they call repeatedly — plus meter readings and billing disputes driven by tariffs nobody can interpret.
What we build for a power utility
First, an outage map with cause and estimated restoration, updated from operations, which replaces the call surge with a link. Second, connection applications online with document upload and visible status, since the opacity of that process is the single largest source of complaints. Third, tariff explanations that a customer can apply to their own bill. Fourth, meter submission and payment in one portal, removing the mechanical load entirely.
