Where water utilities lose time
When supply fails, the call centre receives the same report from everyone on the street, and each caller is told the same thing by a person. Nothing about that process locates the fault faster. The rest of the year the load is meter readings and billing questions, both mechanical, both handled by hand. Residents meanwhile cannot see whether a fault is already known, what their balance is, or when supply will return.
What we build for a water utility
First, fault reporting with map-based deduplication, so repeated reports of one incident become a single record and residents see it is already logged. Second, interruption notices by street with subscriptions, which removes most of the incoming calls at once. Third, online meter submission with validation, replacing the monthly retyping. Fourth, a resident portal with balance, history and payment, which reduces arrears and enquiries together.
