Why cherries need planning
Cherries ripen across a window of days, lose value by the hour after picking, and reach several times the local price in export markets that will only deal with a grower who can demonstrate calibre, firmness and cold-chain handling. Because the window is so short, everything has to be agreed in advance. Growers who start looking for buyers at harvest sell locally at a fraction of what the same fruit is worth.
What we build for a cherry farm
First, variety pages with calibre, firmness and expected harvest window, since export buyers plan flights around those dates. Second, cold chain and packing capability stated, because that is what separates an exportable grower from a local one. Third, multilingual pages and enquiry routing, as the buyers are abroad. Fourth, pre-season contracting, which is the only way a ten-day crop reaches its real price.
