Three markets from one crop
Corn goes to feed mills as grain, to livestock farms as silage, and to fresh markets as sweet corn, and the three buyers screen on completely different things: moisture and quality for grain, harvest timing and cut quality for silage, cob size and sweetness for fresh. Growers present all of it as corn, which means the silage buyer never finds them and the feed mill negotiates without a specification.
What we build for a corn farm
First, separate pages for grain, silage and fresh, each with the parameters that market screens on. Second, moisture and quality data for stored grain, since that sets the price. Third, silage availability with harvest timing and field location, which matters because silage travels badly and buyers are local. Fourth, feed mill contract enquiries, capturing tonnage, moisture and delivery schedule so a mill can price you without a visit.
