Why farm data never reaches the office
Field operations, input use, labour and yields are written down in the field and typed up weeks later, if at all. The result is that nobody knows the cost per hectare of any crop, which field lost money, or whether a change in practice helped. Existing software assumes constant connectivity and an office worker, neither of which describes a working farm.
What we build for a farm
First, mobile data capture that works offline, because fields do not have signal and a system requiring one is not used. Second, field and herd records with operations, inputs and labour logged against a specific block or animal. Third, cost and yield reporting per hectare and per crop, which is the number that changes decisions. Fourth, integration with accounting, so the field record and the financial record finally describe the same farm.
