What crushers screen on
Sunflower, safflower and soy are bought by crushing plants on oil content, moisture and impurity, with tonnage and delivery schedule deciding whether a grower is worth a contract at all. Those plants contract ahead of the season. A grower with no published specification is not in that process and sells the harvest afterwards, into whatever the spot market offers once everyone else has also harvested.
What we build for an oilseed farm
First, variety pages with oil content, moisture and impurity data from actual test results. Second, expected tonnage and harvest window, which is what a crusher needs to plan a season. Third, storage capability, since the ability to hold and deliver on schedule is worth a premium. Fourth, forward contract enquiries aimed at crushing plants rather than at general visitors, capturing tonnage and delivery window.
