How a cake order happens
A cake order is a small commission: size, tiers, flavour, filling, design reference, inscription, date and pickup time. It currently happens across ten messages, some of which are lost, and the studio has no way to show which dates are already full. Peak weekends are overbooked or underbooked by accident, and deposits are chased after the design is agreed rather than taken when the date is held.
What we build for a cake studio
First, an order form collecting size, flavour, design reference and date in one pass, replacing the thread. Second, a date availability calendar, since capacity is the real constraint and nobody can see it. Third, deposits at the moment the date is held, which is what makes a booking real. Fourth, a design gallery filtered by occasion and style, because customers choose visually and then describe what they saw badly.
