Why berry seasons are lost
Strawberries and raspberries are picked daily, spoil within days, and arrive in a glut that lasts a few weeks. Shops and processors buy on volume and grade; households pay far more per kilo but have no way to know what is available today. Growers who cannot reach the second group dump the surplus on the first, at whatever price a six-week national glut produces.
What we build for a berry farm
First, daily availability by grade, updated in seconds, which is the whole trading conversation. Second, direct sales and pre-orders for households, including pick-your-own booking, since that is where the price per kilo actually is. Third, a frozen and processing line for surplus, so a good picking day is not a loss. Fourth, processor supply accounts with volume pricing and scheduled collection.
